Housing Development Academy

Essential skills for building affordable homes.

Created by the London Housing Directors Group (LHDG) and with support by London Councils and Mayor of London; the HDA is a tailored programme of short courses in new build development skills.

The programme is delivered by Future of London: the leadership and networking organisation for the build environment.

Designed for housing professionals across the public sector, our curriculum is built from the ground-up and tailored to the meet the training needs of development teams working in the direct delivery of residential-led development.

Our goal is simple: to equip public sector workers with essential skills to construct better, more affordable homes.

HDA courses are open to all public sector bodies, housing associations, and private sector companies working in the built-environment sector.

Organisations can either purchase places on our current programme or commission in-house training sessions designed to target specific training needs.

London local authorities have the option of purchasing membership to the HDA which provides additional benefits, including discounts on training.

More information can be found here.

Training is delivered by Beacon Partnership, NewmanFrancis, and University College of Estate Management.

Our training providers are experts in their field and have been chosen based on their track record of delivering training across the public sector.

Training is designed to be as practical as possible, anchored through case studies and the real-life experiences of the public sector.

All courses are created to qualify for Continuous Professional Development credits
