This course will examine the process of producing well designed buildings whilst addressing two key challenges. The need to meet the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations, and the need to design a financially viable scheme which is a good place to live.

Participants will learn how to approach commissioning architects, the importance of
producing a clear design brief, the key decisions for good design and building safety, and how to conduct value engineering retaining quality, reliability and safety.

This course is aimed at anyone who wants to understand what a good design process for
residential development looks like and how the Building Safety Act 2022 and current viability
challenges can impact this.
